We met one day when Rob was crowd surfing while dressed as a nun and Casey was breathing fire. It wasn’t a typical rom com meet cute, it was more of a Tim Burton film come to life.

The friendship was immediate, but it wasn’t until one Christmas when Casey came to visit Rob in New York City when he was starring on Broadway that this fiery duo started to heat up. Living in Harlem, eating in Chinatown, and standing beneath the Rockefeller Christmas Tree in a blizzard, we blame this all on the magic of Manhattan.

Eventually, we packed up that magic and moved to Los Angeles together, where in between auditions and improv classes we created our show Kamikaze Fireflies. Conceived next to a taco truck and then rehearsed in the wonderfully surreal setting of the park in between the La Brea Tar Pits and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, it was another life changing moment.

One of the very first festivals to take a chance on our fledgling show was the Ohio Renaissance Festival, and it continues to be our most beloved event. Over the years, we’ve travelled the world, had adventures great and small, and tried our hardest to spread laughter and lighter fluid everywhere we went.

And somewhere along the way, Ohio stopped being just a place we performed… and became home. Keep your sunshine and palm trees Los Angeles, we want Spring Grove Cemetery and Jungle Jim’s.

No couple is poor as long as they have each other and friends, and all of you make us the richest people in Bedford Falls. Attaboy Clarence!
